Twister! Paint-by-numbers! Rationing books! History comes alive in this daylong celebration of the lives of the Greatest Generation. Join us for crafts, activities, games, and treats popular in the U.S. from 1920s through the 1960s. Come dressed as your favorite icon from the time period (Rosie the Riveter, Dwight Eisenhower, Woody Guthrie…) or dress in period costume from your favorite Greatest Generation decade. The day will culminate in Paul Burch’s presentation of Talkin’ America – a look at narrative songwriting in America post World War I through the 1940s.

Crafts, snacks and great exhibits will be available all day, plus these great activities: 

11 a.m. (1950’s) Charm bracelets in the StoryRoom with Marlena

12 p.m. (1960’s) Litho prints in the StoryRoom with Monique

1 p.m. (1940’s) Maps in 1C with Kristel

2 p.m. Paul Burch performs in the CR

3 p.m. (1950’s) Space Race Crafts in the StoryRoom with Kim
