YDL offers a variety of book groups for children, teens, and adults. Joining a book group is a great way to meet new people and experience the fun of discussing a book together.

Book Groups for Adults

African American Authors


Meets the last Tuesday of the month at 7 pm in the Community Room.

Monday Evening Book Group


Meets the second Monday of the month at 7 pm, Conference Room 1C.

Mystery Lovers Book Group


Join other amateur sleuths once a month on Wednesdays at 2 pm in Conference Room 1C to discuss mystery novels.

Meets the first Thursday of each month at 10:30 am in Conference room 1C.

ESL Book Group


Study English as a Second Language in a casual, comfortable atmosphere. The group uses books and other materials written in English as a framework for conversation.

Book Groups for Kids

Super Readers!

Grades 1-3

Meets one Thursday per month at 7 pm in the storyroom. Discuss the selected books and enjoy a craft and small snack.

Black Authors Tween Book Club


Meets the third Wednesday of each month at 6 pm. Explore themes of race and class through contemporary tween fiction.

Kids Only Book Club

Kids in grades 3-5

The Kids Only Book Club is for kids in grades 3-5. The club meets the third Thursday of the month at 7pm for snacks and discussion about books selected just for them. Registration required. Call 482-4110 x1390.

Parent/Child Book Group

kids IN Grades 4-6 with a parent

Meets one Monday evening each month at 7 pm. For readers in 4th – 6th grades and their parent or other significant adult in their lives. Join us for great discussions of books selected just for you!
