Summer Reading at the Ypsilanti District Library
2008: Reading Rocks!
Summer Reading for Youth: Be a Star Let your imagination take you wherever you want to go. Read whatever your heart desires: books, magazines, newspapers, websites - even cereal boxes!
Everything counts, including audiobooks and listening to and reading aloud to someone else.
Your goal is to spend 900 minutes (15 hours) in reading activities throughout the summer. Collect a small prize when you reach the 450 minute mark. When you reach 900 minutes, you'll get to choose a brand new paperback book of your own to keep - and be entereed into a drawing to win books signed by their authors. Summer Reading for Teens: Read Read Revolution
Teens who read six books over the summer will earn a free book of their choice and be entered into a drawing for cool prizes. Just for registering for summer reading, teens will get a $5 YDL gift certificate they can spend on printing/copying in the library or overdue fines. Summer Reading for Adults: Booked for the Summer Adult readers (18+) set a goal of completing eight books in any format (print or audio). Those who reach their goal and turn in their reading log by 5 pm on Sunday, August 17 will receive a finishing gift and entry into a drawing for an additional prize. You can record the books you've read directly onto the website: Booked for the Summer.
