Groups for younger readers: Book Buddies (grades 1-3)
Meets Saturdays (1/23, 2/20, 3/20, 4/17, 5/15) at 2pm in the storyroom. Discuss the selected books and enjoy a craft and a small snack. Call to register: 482-4110, ext. 1340 Boys Book Club
Meets the fourth Thursday of the month at 7 pm. Boys ages 10-12 help choose interesting books to read and then talk about the characters, the plots, the heroes, and the villains. Call to register: 482-4110, ext. 1340. Family book group/storytime (ages 5-9)
Meets Saturdays (1/9, 2/6, 4/3 , 5/1) in the storyroom. Listen to the selected book and enjoy a craft.
Mother/Daughter Book Club
Meets the third Monday of the month at 7:00 pm. This group is for mothers and their daughters in grades 4-6. Discussions will focus on issues such as growing up, relationships, and the characters in the story. Call to register: 482-4110, ext. 1340. Groups for adults: ESL Book Group
Study English as a Second Language in a casual, comfortable atmosphere. The group uses books and other materials written in English as a framework for conversation. To learn more, call Washtenaw Literacy at 482-4110 ext. 1385 or 1320. Groups for younger readers: Anime Club (ages 14-18)
Meets the second Saturday of every month from 3-5 pm. Do you want to learn about different anime but don’t know how to get started? Would you like to read anime books and watch movies and share your opinions? Debate your favorite titles and characters, discuss anime books, movies, and games. Snacks provided. The March 13th meeting will be a special after-hours from 6-9pm. We’ll be making dessert sushi and watching anime movies and playing anime games. Sign-up for the Anime Club! The Kids Only Book Club is for kids in grades 3-5. The club meets monthly for snacks and discussion about books selected just for them. Registration is required by calling 482-4110, ext. 1390.
Teen Book Group (Teens)
