Find a book?
You can search for books and other materials in YDL’s collection by using our catalog. If we do not have the item you are looking for, you may request it through MeLCat or request that YDL purchase the item.
Overdue and lost item fines are displayed on your library account. You may view your library account by clicking the “My Account” link along the top of your browser. If you are not already logged in, you will be prompted to do so. Once you are logged in, click on “Fines/Blocks” to see any fines you have. Click here to pay your fines online with a credit card.
Your pin number is either the number you chose when you signed up for your card, or the last four digits of your phone number. If you need help with your pin number, please call Customer Services at 482-4110, ext. 1349. Please have your library card number on hand when you call.
The bookmobile goes out Monday-Thursday from 4 - 8 pm whenever the library is open. To view the bookmobile’s route and more specific information about our bookmobile, please click here.
To get a library card, you will need photo ID with your current address, and you will need to fill out a library card application. More information on getting a library card can be found here.

You may renew or reserve a book by clicking the “Renew My Materials” link along the top of your browser. If you are not already logged in, you will be prompted to do so. To renew books, once you are logged into “my account,” click the “checked out” link. Place a check mark beside items you’d like to check out, and hit the “renew” button at the top or bottom of the page. Please note: Items that are requested by another patron cannot be renewed. If you have any items overdue on your account, you will not be able to renew. You may renew over the phone by calling Customer Services at 482-4110, ext. 1349. Print and audiovisual items may be renewed up to five times. Playaways may be renewed twice. Interlibrary loan items (ILL) may be renewed once.
The Ypsilanti District Library offers a variety of materials and services to help you carry out research. Most people start by looking for materials in our catalog. You will also find a wealth of information in our online databases and our subject guides. If you need any sort of assistance in carrying out your research, please contact us.
If you have a YDL library card, you may sign up for classes and events online. Sign up by clicking the “Register Online” button in the calendar. Our calendar of events may be found by clicking here. If you do not have a YDL card, you may sign up for a class or event by calling the number listed in the event information.
