Teen Film Festival
Calling all teen filmmakers! Enter your film in the first ever YDL Teen Film Fest. Awards will be given to the best film, director, actor, and actress. YDL will present 2 film workshops in conjunction with the film fest. The workshops are designed to help fledging filmmakers with their technique. Film Fest contestants are not required to attend the workshops, but participation will not count against them in judging. Films will be reviewed by a jury consisting of YDL staff, and selected community members on content, artistic and technical merit, and creativity.
All films due by Monday, March 24, 2008, by 7 pm. Film entries can be dropped off at any Ypsilanti District Library location.
Don't miss the premiere!! Saturday, March 29 2 pm at YDL-Whittaker Road. This event is open to the public. All ages are welcome!
- Best Film - $100.
- Best Direction - $50
- Best Actor - $25
- Best Actress - $25
Official Rules
-Contest open to teens ages 13-18.
Group of 1 to 5 teens may work on one film.
-Adults may appear in the film, but should have no other responsibilities in the production of the film.
-Participants may attend “film fest workshops” for guidance.
Films can be no longer than 20 minutes.
-Any copyrighted material (music, movie clips, etc.) used in the film must be credited.
-Each teen or group of teens can submit one film.
-Films must be submitted on DVD format.
-If your film is chosen as a winner or one of the films to be shown at the premiere you will be contacted by Thursday, March 27.
-Not all films will be screened at premiere on Saturday, March 29th.
-Films will not be returned.
*By submitting your film, you agree to give the Ypsilanti District Library permission to use images, titles, names, and anything else associated with the film for promotion and publicity.*
