Our Wednesday Terrific Threes Storytimes and Thursday Jumpstart Storytimes are on break during this challenging time, but there are many opportunities for early literacy fun at home. We’ll post videos of Marlena reading aloud each week. Listen to the story, then use some of activities using the links she shared below.

Until I see you again, here are links to some of the action songs we do at storytime so you can enjoy them at home!

Be sure to check out our Spring Challenge, which has a Virtually Live Storytime badge you can earn with links to great digital picture books and favorite authors reading aloud. Other challenge activity suggestions include ideas for STEM and art projects. Children can enjoy creating special works of art and we’ll their work in an online Flickr gallery. Kids who complete challenges, including logging books you read aloud to them earn a free book when the library reopens.

Don’t forget to keep track of books you read for your 1000 Books Before Kindergarten log too. We’ll add your books when we reopen. I’m sure we’ll have more shirts to give away and faces to add to our Wall of Fame.

Visit our resource page if you need basic necessities. And don’t forget you can sign up for TALK to get activity ideas delivered to your phone twice a week for kids 5 and under.

I can be contacted at if the little ones want to say hi. Stay safe and healthy!
