  • Perry Early Learning Center, 550 Perry Street, 734-971-1073.  Free testing, no appointment, insurance, or prescription needed. Testing is Monday-Friday, 9am-4:30pm. Sponsored by Packard Health and Ypsilanti Community School.
  • Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor Hospital (Outpatient Surgery entrance), 5301 McAuley Drive, 833-247-1258. Free curbside testing, screening at ihacares.com/ecare, no appointment or physician referral needed. Testing is Sunday-Saturday, 8am-5pm.
  • Fever and Upper Respiratory Illness Clinic at IHA Urgent Care @ EMU, 1065 N. Huron River Rd., 734-896-4112. Free testing, must have symptoms, complete screening at ihacares.com/ecare. Testing is Monday-Friday 7am-9pm, Saturday-Sunday 8am-6pm.
  • Kroger at Ford Elementary School, 2440 E. Clark Rd., 888-852-2567, ext. 3.  Free drive-up and walk-up testing available. Get screened and schedule a test at krogerhealth.com/covidtesting Testing is Monday-Thursday, 10am-4pm.
  • Michigan Urgent Care & Occupational Health–Ann Arbor, 3280 Washtenaw Ave, 734-389-2000, michiganurgentcare.com. No prescription needed, urgent care visit required, appointment recommended. Testing is Sunday – Monday, 8am-10pm.

MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT AND RESOURCES

COVID-19 Grief Support Group – Michigan Medicine Turner Geriatric Clinic has a virtual grief support group for older adults or family members of older adults affected by loss due to COVID-19.  Zoom meetings will be led by two social workers and take place on the first and third Tuesdays from 3-4pm starting May 5.  Call 734-764-2556 and leave your name, phone number, and email and someone will call you back.

Mental Health during Covid-19, from the Washtenaw County Health Department, has advice for self-care, de-stressing and a 2-page  PDF on taking care of your mental health while social distancing. Needing to talk to someone? Call 734-544-3050 to connect by phone to 24/7 CARES team member or text SHARE to the county Crisis Text Line at 741741.

National Alliance on Mental Illness Covid-19 Guide is full of answers to real life questions, resources and practices for people struggling with health, financial, and family stresses. It includes resources for prescription medication, emergency mental health services, and good advice about prioritizing self-care and providing emotional support to your  loved ones.

PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT

NEW! The City of Ypsilanti is distributing Covid Care Package Flyer., with 3oz bottles of hand sanitizer, 3oz bottles of cleaning disinfectant, 1 cloth reusable face mask for each member of eligible households in the City, 2 rolls of paper towel, and 2 rolls of toilet paper. Included in each care package will be detailed instructions on the items received and their proper use, including wearing and washing your cloth facemask. Eastern Michigan University Engage is collaborating with local organizations to sew masks and create face shields.Businesses may order masks.  $2 donation is suggested.

Ypsilanti Food Co-op Has plenty of Ypsi made cloth masks made by Sloth Girl and family. Cost is $5, all of which is being donated to the Corner Health Center.

Master Drapery show is creating a high quality mask. Call 248-307-1090 to order.

Cloth Masks at Target are very low cost, $15 for 10 masks, however they are single ply and do not meed CDC guidelines.

DISINFECTING SURFACES AND MASKS

My Brother’s Keeper, in partnership with the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Department, gives out cleaning supplies every Thursday at 11am at the West Willow Community Center.

N95decon has cheat sheets of research-based sterilzation methods for N95 masks and things that will damage the effectiveness of the mask.

.Mask Testing Study at Northeastern University Preliminary research found that adding nylon stocking to any mask increased the fit around the face, which significantly increased it’s filtering level.  Study reported on NPR.
