This week, let your little one make art from natural materials–both plants and spices, then make sensory art. Talk about the colors, smells, and textures to build vocabulary!
Pick flowers and leaves, sort them by color (an early math skill!), add a bit of water, then let your little one use their hands to squeeze and mix until the water is tinged with some of the plant’s nature color. Use a paintbrush to paint on paper, or rub color directly onto the paper with flower petals and leaves for brighter artwork.
Mix spices with a bit of water and paint onto paper for a multi-sensory experience.
