826michigan

826michigan is part of 826 National, the largest youth writing network in the country, with chapters in nine U.S. cities, including the one in the Ypsi/Ann Arbor/Detroit region. These nine chapters serve 40,000 students each year, thanks to the support of almost 5,000 volunteers.

Each chapter has an imaginative storefront. You’ll find the local chapter in downtown Ann Arbor behind the robot supply storefront, but they are active in the Ypsi and Detroit communities as well, providing students access to high-quality, engaging, and free writing, tutoring, and publishing programs.

Teachers and parents, if you’re looking for more writing prompt ideas, there are hundreds of free lesson plans, writing prompts, and selections of sample student writing you can find at 826digital. Create a login the first time to gain access. Everything is free; donations are optional!
