Get ready for space upgrades at the Whittaker branch! This summer, you’ll see a brand new lounge space where the Café used to be, and the Youth Storytime Room will become a multi-purpose space for STEM, cooking, and more. We hope the youth space will be complete before the Summer Challenge begins, and the Café space not long after. YDL engaged Daniels & Zermack Architects to design the renovations to the spaces.
New Lounge
The Café space will become a comfortable lounge seating area with vending machines in the back where you can get a snack or a drink, gather with others, use and charge devices, or just wait for a ride.
Storytime space
Our Youth storytimes outgrew the story room almost as soon as Whittaker opened. The tiered-step seating will come out, and the space will become a multi-purpose room for our STEM, anime, cooking, and other youth events.
