Preserving Family Recipes

Join writer, archivist, and educational consultant Valerie Frey for guidance on how to care for family recipe books and sheets, kitchen artifacts, and techniques for translating sketchy, illegible, or unwritten recipes. Learn about interviewing relatives and collecting oral histories that fill out a family’s food traditions. Her book Preserving Family Recipes: How to Save and Celebrate Your Food Traditions was released in 2015. Valerie shares one of her family recipes here.
