Cinetopia Film Festival Moves to August 21-30

CINETOPIA FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES MOVE TO AUGUST 2020 The Cinetopia Film Festival is moving to August. In light of the coronavirus pandemic that has put all facets of life on hold, the Metro Detroit-Ann Arbor film festival, heading into its ninth year, will unfold Aug. 21-30. The fest was scheduled to take place May 8-17. “We are very appreciative of all the support we have received from our partners and sponsors as we made this difficult decision, and we understand how lucky we are to be able to reschedule Cinetopia,” said Cinetopia Film Festival Director Sarah Escalante in a statement. …

Oct. 27: Join Bill Wells for Sandhill Crane film and tour On Sunday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m., join local expert Bill Wells, who will show a film about Sandhill Cranes and then lead a driving tour to view them around the Waterloo Recreation Area at the Eddy Discovery Center. Visitors can expect to see large flocks of these magnificent birds at close range. Bring binoculars and cameras. The cost is $2 per person or $5 for a family. The Gerald E. Eddy Discovery Center is located at 17030 Bush Road in Sylvan Township.
