Toyota Motors North America has agreed to a fourth year of funding for STEM activities and equipment at YDL
More exciting STEM programming is on the horizon, thanks to another $30,000 from Toyota through their Driving Possibilities initiative!
This fall, YDL will host STEM field trips with students from Ypsilanti Community School and Lincoln Consolidated School. Black Men Read will bring more special STEM programming to YDL-Superior, and there will be a new monthly Food Science program starting in September at YDL-Superior.
The goal of Toyota’s initiative is to close educational gaps for all students through innovative, hands-on STEM programming. Through partnerships with YDL, Ypsilanti Community Schools, Lincoln Consolidated Schools, and WISD, the initiative will continue to build STEM awareness, excitement, and interest in careers in STEM.
The initiative also addresses some of the essential needs and barriers to success for area students and families.
