LNGO Crafternoons: Shrink Art

Join us for a virtual lighthearted afternoon where the goal is to engage your mind, work on a project but perfection is not a requirement! Today we will play with Shrinky Dink plastic.  It isn’t just for kids! Pick up supplies in advance then meet virtually. To use Zoom you will need a smartphone or internet and tablet/computer. Registration is required. For ages 55+. Fill out my Wufoo form!

LNGO Crafternoons: Kumihimo Bracelets (2nd session)

Join us for a virtual lighthearted afternoon where the goal is to engage your mind, work on a project but perfection is not a requirement! This is the second week of our Kumihimo bracelet series. On 8/28 we learned basic Kumihimo and this time we’ll add beads. Pick up supplies in advance then meet virtually. To use Zoom you will need a smartphone or internet and tablet/computer. Registration is required in the prior session on 8/28. For ages 55+.

Join us for a virtual lighthearted afternoon where the goal is to engage your mind, work on a project but perfection is not a requirement! Registration is for 2 sessions.  This week’s project is to make a bracelet while learning to do Kumihimo, a type of Japanese cording. On Friday 9/11 we’ll make a second bracelet with beads. Pick up supplies in advance then meet virtually. To use Zoom you will need a smartphone or internet and tablet/computer. What is Creative Aging?

Research on the aging process has shown that participating in the arts contributes to positive aging, promoting personal growth, enhanced well-being, and social engagement. Dr Gene Cohen’s landmark study on Arts and Aging illuminates how the creative arts promotes healthier aging. YDL has embraced this idea by offering several creative aging workshops for those 55 years and older. Local professional artists partner with the library to offer free instructional programs that build skills in the arts through participatory workshops and culminate in a public sharing.
