Books on Wheels is a customized home delivery service provided by the Ypsilanti District Library. If you are unable to get to the library due to physical limitations, you may qualify for this service. For information about our service plans and safety precautions during Covid-19, click here.

Who is eligible to receive this service?

To be eligible, you must:

  • Live within the YDL Service Area, which includes the City of Ypsilanti, Ypsilanti Township, and a portion of Superior Township, and
  • Have a short-term or permanent physical limitation that prevents you from getting to the library.

What kind of materials can be delivered?

Books on Wheels is a full service library delivery program. We deliver books (including Large Print), movies, audiobooks, and magazines. Patrons can supply a specific list of what they want, or can share their preferences with the delivery person who will then choose materials based on those preferences.

Is there a fee for this service?

No. This is a free service.

How often will I get a delivery?

Deliveries are made by appointment. Call 482-4110 x1362 or email sgoff@ypsilibrary.org 48 hours in advance of your desired delivery.

Will the same person always deliver to me?

We have a very small group of staff members who deliver to our Books on Wheels patrons. Most of the time you will see the same person.
