YDL has many resources for those living with a visual impairment, including audiobooks, an extensive large print collection and magnifiers. We do however sometimes refer our patrons to the Washtenaw Library for the Blind and Disabled. WLBPD is a free service available through the Ann Arbor District Library to those in Washtenaw County who are unable to read printed materials. A variety of materials, including braille and a talking book machine, can be sent to patrons through the mail. For more information, to see if you or someone you know qualifies, or to apply for this service, visit WLBPD’s website.
