NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month, is well underway as we near the middle of the month. NaNoWriMo is a challenging yet rewarding undertaking, writing 50,000 words during the month of November. Started in 1999 by Christ Baty, hundreds of thousands of writers have attempted their novel. Some even “winning” and finishing their novel! Writers are tracked on NaNoWriMo’s website, where you can also find writing buddies, local and regional events, the dare machine, pep talks, and much more.

If you have been trying to write that novel for the past one, two, or ten years, then join us! Angela and Jess, two of our novelist-volunteers, will be at YDL-Whittaker on Saturdays from 11 AM – 2 PM. They have experience in writing and completing novels, figuring out where to go with plot, how to develop characters, and more. Help, ideas, accountability…whatever you need for your NaNoWriMo novel, these volunteers can provide it!
