What are the latest developments?sign at new Superior site
  • The Library installed a sign on the Harris Road property to alert residents of the site for the new project.
  • G2 Consulting Group completed soil borings. Test results show a heavy amount of clay. This information helps our architect plan an appropriate foundation for the building and drainage for the site.
  • For approval of the Library’s desired driveway location, the Washtenaw County Road Commission requires improvements to Harris Road. The Superior Township Board generously agreed to allocate funds to pay for the engineering of the road project. The Library, Superior Township, and the Library’s engineering team are working with the Road Commission to coordinate these improvements with the building construction.
  • Thank you to the Ann Arbor Farm and Garden Club for awarding YDL a $5,000 grant! The funds will be used to build accessible raised bed gardens at the new library.

 What’s next?

The Library’s engineering team is preparing a site plan. Their goal is to submit the site plan to the Superior Township Planning Commission in February.  Groundbreaking is currently anticipated in Fall 2020.
