The fireplace, a focal point of the library, has been installed. Take a sneak peak to the right! Glazing is scheduled for early June. The new windows will use bird-friendly glass, which will not only be better for the environment, but will allow for teachable moments inside the new library.
The building’s electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems have passed their rough inspections. On the exterior, masons are laying brick; they expect to finish in the coming weeks. Parking lot light poles are in place.
At their May 25 meeting the YDL Board of Trustees approved vendors for installation of building security and audiovisual equipment. Electrical for these systems will go in prior to the drywall wrapping up.
Site work including curbs, grading, and parking lot base course will commence soon. Harris Road will be widened, with work expected to begin in July and run through September.
The Next Chapter Capital Campaign is in the final stretch. There’s just $225,000 left to meet our final $2 million goal. Help make the new library everything the community wants and needs by giving today at ypsilibrary.org/nextchapter.
