Get your eclipse glasses!

Beginning March 25, visit the Whittaker or Superior branch, or the Bookmobile to “check out” a pair of eclipse glasses. Each YDL patron can receive one pair with their library card, and they are yours to keep! Courtesy of the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.

Safety info from NASA
While it’s beautiful to observe the eclipse, it is not safe to look directly at the Sun without specialized eye protection for solar viewing. Even using binoculars with regular eclipse glasses can be harmful to your eyes. You can read this article from NASA for tips, and see below for instructions on building your own viewing equipment!
Intended for knowledgeable amateur and professional astronomers who know how to operate a telescope for solar observing.
