Drug-Free Workplace

In accordance with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, 34 CFR Part 85, Subpart F, the Ypsilanti District Library Board hereby states its intent to maintain a drug-free workplace.

All employees of YDL, Washtenaw Literacy or those whose services are contracted by the YDL are hereby notified that the unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession or use of controlled substances* is prohibited in the workplace or at YDL work sites.

Any violation of this policy may result in an EAP referral, disciplinary action, or immediate dismissal at the discretion of the Director.

*The term “controlled substance” refers to all illegal drugs, alcohol, and prescription drugs used without a physician’s order.

YDL buildings and vehicles are smoke-free.
