Get kids reading with the Summer Challenge Champions program!
The Ypsilanti District Library (YDL) is seeking summer camps to partner with our Summer Challenge Champions program (SCC). SCC partners receive a bin of read-aloud books to borrow for the duration of their summer program and reading prizes for their participants. An optional independent reading bin for your reading-age kids is also available. This year, we are asking the participants about their favorite parts of STEM to provide a great activity.
Your location will receive up to three visits: the first and last visit will include the Bookmobile, a storyteller, and a free book. The second visit will include a STEM activity and the handout of free STEM toy kits. YDL will provide the structure and tools to challenge kids’ reading with a goal of 20 minutes each day. With your help, we can ensure every child has the chance to read and listen to books every day.
