How does Scan & Go work?
Before your Scan and Go appointment at YDL-Superior, You will pick up intake paperwork, gather your documents and fill out your paperwork. Once at the library for your appointment, staff will meet you outside for your documents and ID. You will need to remain outside while staff take your documents inside to scan them. You’ll receive your documents after they are scanned. The library will transmit the digital files of your documents to United Way through a secure website. YDL will not keep any copies of your personal documents.
Over the next 1-2 weeks, a certified volunteer will work on preparing your taxes. They will contact you with any questions they may have. Once your taxes are completed, they will call you to go over everything and schedule your return visit.
At your return visit, you will receive a copy of your taxes and sign a form that allows United Way to efile your taxes. Library staff will scan the form and return it to you. After that, your taxes will be filed.
