October 8 is moving day for the collection at the current Superior branch!
To mark the transition from YDL’s single room at 8795 MacArthur to our new 7,800 square foot space, we’re hosting a Community Book Brigade! Help us pass books and DVDs hand-to-hand from the old library to the new library on Saturday, October 8, from 2:00– 4:00 p.m. The more people participate, the more camaraderie and fun. This all-ages, sunshine-only event will symbolize what a true community effort the new building’s construction has been. Please come show your support and lend a hand! Register online.
Please note: You’ll be standing during this event. If you need a chair, please let us know when you arrive. Restrooms will be available inside the current Superior building.

Superior Branch History
Since Superior Township first joined the library district in 2007, the Library Board has been committed to expanding service in the area by building a third full-service library.
The new 7,800 square-foot facility is being built on four and a quarter acres of land purchased from Superior Township for $1.00.
The new library at 1900 Harris Road will replace the tiny, 1,000 square foot “temporary” library on MacArthur Boulevard. It will be open six days a week, doubling the hours of the current location.
