Weekly Chess Club

Annual Chess Tournament

April 11, 10am-3:30pm

Join Jenny Skidmore-Smith and the YDL Chess Club for a rated tournament, with 5 rounds of G/30 or G/25 5 sec delay time control. Trophies, prizes, pins, and pizza provided! Sign up online.

Weekly Meetups

Wednesdays, January 7-April 8, 4:30-5:30pm

Drop in to play at YDL-Whittaker! Grades K-12 welcome.

Each Wednesday after school, school aged youth come together to play chess at the library. Jenny Skidmore Smith offers instruction, puzzles, guidance, and homework to help players learn and hone their skills. Everyone in grades K-12 is welcome, but instruction targets players up to USCF 1500. Drop in and play!

Play at the Library

Ask anytime to use a chess set and practice at the library. It’s one of many games you can play! Or check out a Chess STEM kit that includes a board, clock, and books to help you improve your game.
